Tayfun is an architect, accountant, and businessman who lives in Chatham Township. He came to the United States an adult knowing little English and having little more than a belief that if he worked hard, followed the rules, and served his community that he too could achieve the American dream.

 

Tayfun has worked for an architectural and engineering firm in Cedar Knolls, Montclair State University and joined CB Richard Ellis in 2006. At CBRE / Bank of America he was responsible for the New Store Program, developing 250+/- new branches across the country in 4 years. When the financial crisis occurred Tayfun was transferred to a national account and worked as the Global Director of Project Management. 

 

Tayfun currently works for Lincoln Educational Services as the Vice President of Procurement and Real Estate and is a leader for the Real Estate function which manages 3+ million square feet of real estate in 17 states and the overall procurement function of the company. His team delivered Lincoln’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified 212,000 square feet, $30 million, Automobile Training School in Denver, CO.

 

Tayfun strongly believes in community engagement. He formerly served on his local Board of Adjustment and supports several local nonprofits. Tayfun also holds a seat on the Montclair State University School of Business Advisory Board and is a member of the Morris County Republican Committee.

 

Tayfun holds Bachelors of Science in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University and an MBA degree from Montclair State University. He achieved certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt by Rutgers University and Lockheed Martin and is a licensed real estate professional in NJ. Tayfun is also a LEED Accredited Professional certified by US Green Building Council and a Certified Public Accountant.

 

He resides in Chatham Township with his wife Tulin and daughter Defne, who attends the Chatham public schools.
